Smedmore House is a Georgian country manor near Kimmeridge, Dorset, in England. It was originally built by Sir William Clavell around 1620. It is set in a most scenic part of Dorset near the coast, and the views from the house and grounds are spectacular. Two acres of romantically disordered walled flower gardens, orchards, and a Mediterranean garden surround the house.
Directions The road to Smedmore is marked " Private
Road to Smedmore" and leaves the road to Kimmeridge village on the left
just before the road plunges steeply downhill and to the right. It
will be signposted in yellow. The roads near to Kimmeridge are often
closed due to MOD activity and this can be confusing. The most sure way
is to leave Wareham on the A351 towards Corfe Castle and ignoring
signs to Kimmeridge after two miles , drive further and leave the A351
to the right just before Corfe , signposted Church Knowle and Steeple.
2 miles after Church Knowle turn left signposted Kimmeridge.
Park on drive in front of the house
