The opportunity to visit the beautiful Hinton St Mary Estate and have a tour of their extensive displays of spring bulbs, with a welcome talk by Valerie Pitt Rivers and a tour of the gardens and arboretum.
The estate was inherited by Anthony Pitt-Rivers' great grandfather in 1880 and ever since the family have farmed on the estate, with Anthony and Valerie taking over the reins in the 1970s. The family live and work on the estate, but are now opening their doors, offering this rare opportunity.
Time: Meet at the Tithe barn, at 10.30 am, for coffee.
11.00 Welcome and tour of the gardens by Valerie Pitt-Rivers , with explanation of their history & development. Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions. Please feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy in the gardens afterwards.
