By kind permission of Mr and Mrs Tom Sweet-Escott.
Chettle House has just undergone major restoration and the garden and landscape has been largely redesigned to reflect the original early 18th century plan. The house was designed by Thomas Archer, the innovative and creative early 18th century gentleman architect, who was a master of Baroque.
The DGT is extremely fortunate to be able to hold our Study Day in the house with Dr. Kate Felus and Dr. Helen Lawrence-Beaton, who will lecture on the significance of the house and gardens and the research leading to the restoration.
Pip Morrison, who designed the garden, will guide us around the grounds.
